How does the toenail fungus laser work?

The laser light passes through the toenail and kills the fungus that lives in and under the toenail. The toenail fungus laser does not cause damage to the nail or surrounding skin.

Will I need one or more laser fungus treatments?

One treatment kills the fungus for some people. Our own studies have shown a better success rate with three laser fungus treatments 8 weeks apart. In most cases you will have healthy nails in 8 -10 months.

There is a chance of reinfection because the toenail fungus is present everywhere in the environment. Using sandals in public areas will help prevent a fungus recurrence.

When can I paint my nails or have a pedicure?

24 hours after the toenail laser treatment you can apply polish but it is important to have everything removed from the nails before treatment begins.

No, this laser procedure is considered aesthetic and therefore health insurance plans do not provide coverage.
