Business Profile: Laser Image Company (The Beach Reporter)

John Santoliquido, owner of Laser Image in Redondo Beach, believes in being honest with his patients and giving them the best possible treatment available. It is so important to educate your patients, and let them know exactly what the treatment can provide them and the different options they have, he said. We really talk to our patients and find out what it is they need based on what it is they are trying to accomplish.
After working in hospitals and with plastic surgeons all around the Los Angeles and Orange County area, including working with doctors from the reality TV series Dr. 90210 and Extreme Makeover, Santoliquido decided to become a silent partner in his Redondo Beach business. However, three months ago, his business partner left, making Santoliquido the sole owner of Laser Image.
With the exception of a few minor refurbishes to the inside of the office, not much has changed with the physical appearance of Laser Image. However, what has caught people's attention is the new skin-tightening laser. This is probably are most popular treatment right now, he said. The results are amazing, you get instant results without the risk of surgery and there is no down time. There is also no numbing or burning of the skin.
The procedure, which combines both radiofrequency and infrared technology, has similar results as a face lift at a fourth of the cost without any of the repercussions or dangers of invasive surgery.
Santoliquido, who has been training doctors and nurses how to use the laser equipment for almost 10 years, doesn't perform procedures on his patients but instead manages the business, oversees patient care and monitors patient progress. We have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, he said. When I decided to run this business, I made the decision to look at what I would want when I walked into a medi-spa and how I would want to feel like when I left. We want our patients to be happy about the treatments they are receiving and the results they are seeing.
Besides the popular skin-tightening laser, Laser Image also provides a variety of laser treatments including hair removal, vein removal, brown spot removal, body contouring and a full line of physician-strength skin care as well as milder skin care. Laser Image also has an on-site nutritional coach. We don't just focus on the outside of the body but we also take a look at what you are putting inside of your body. Your diet can have a lot to do with how your skin looks, he said.
Continuously educating himself on the most up-to-date technology and skin care, Santoliquido said he plans to purchase a new laser every year as technology expands. Education is very important to me and my staff, we stay up-to-date on everything and all of our lasers are FDA-approved.
Santoliquido explained his business as a true medi-spa. We're not froo-froo like other spas. People come in because they want to see results. But at the same time we have a very comfortable atmosphere. Our rooms are clean and comfortable, and when outpatients are waiting we come out and talk to them so we can learn more about them. They can ask questions or just talk to us about the treatment, he said.
Santoliquido said the best part about owning his business is seeing his patients' results. I love seeing the change, the transition, he said. When they are here, they are so happy and that is really nice to see.
